Skipping the iPhone 18 Pro? Redesigned 'iPhone 20' is Coming Next Year

Apple recently introduced the iPhone 18 Pro models, but speculation already swirls around a redesigned iPhone 20 slated for release next September. According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, Apple intends to unveil a special 20th-anniversary iPhone next year, marking the most significant design changes since the iPhone X. The iPhone, launched in 2007 by Steve Jobs, will celebrate its 20th anniversary with a curved glass design and thinner bezels around the screen, representing the biggest overhaul to the iPhone Pro line since the iPhone X. The iPhone X, introduced in 2017, was the first model to feature Face ID, with its removal of the Touch ID button allowing the screen to extend towards the device's edges.

While the 20th-anniversary iPhone's design changes remain unconfirmed, recent reports suggest Apple is committed to making the screen appear to wrap around the device's corners and edges, creating a nearly all-glass appearance. However, the feasibility of these ambitious design changes is yet to be determined. The iPhone 18 Pro is expected to feature an A20 Pro chip with a 20% faster CPU and a 40% faster GPU compared to its predecessor, a smaller Dynamic Island, a variable aperture main 48-megapixel Fusion camera, extended battery life, and a larger vapor chamber cooling system for improved heat dissipation.

If these enhancements do not appeal to potential buyers, waiting for the redesigned iPhone 20 could prove worthwhile, pending the confirmation of these rumored updates.
