Sheikh Khaled to lead UAE delegation at Brics summit in New Delhi

Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, will represent the UAE at the 18th Brics Summit in New Delhi on Saturday and Sunday. The conference will focus on financial cooperation, energy transition, and strengthening ties with other emerging economies to foster a more integrated global economic system and shared prosperity.

The UAE's involvement underscores its dedication to promoting multilateral financial and economic collaboration and addressing critical issues for emerging and developing nations, according to the state news agency Wam.

Prior to the summit, a UAE delegation attended the second meeting of Brics finance ministers and Central Bank governors, held in Mumbai on Thursday. Mohamed Al Hussaini, Minister of State for Financial Affairs, emphasized that Brics serves as a crucial platform for bolstering international economic cooperation and aligning positions on financial and economic matters of mutual concern, particularly as emerging and developing economies face challenges.

The UAE reaffirmed its support for the Brics Task Force on Growth and Development, which was established this year, and stressed the importance of advancing its work in areas such as digital transformation, innovation, growth-oriented reforms, labour mobility, and developing future skills and talent.
