Seoul brings free music, film, crafts to local park this weekend

Seoul is turning a neighborhood park into an autumn festival this weekend, offering a free week of concerts, family activities, and outdoor movies. The 2026 Cheonho Park Fall Festival takes place from 2-6 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday in the Gangdong District of eastern Seoul. This event is part of a larger plan by city planners to make culture more accessible by turning neighborhood parks into leisure hubs, instead of relying on major venues along the Han River or in central Seoul.

Cheonho Park, once a factory site in a densely populated residential area, now serves as a vital green space and meeting place for locals. The festival will showcase a variety of live music, from youth hip-hop dance teams to classical guitar performances, as well as interactive workshops for families. On Saturday, visitors can enjoy the performances of singers So Yu-mi and Jung Min-chan, among others.

In addition to the music, park visitors can take part in activities such as planting potted flowers, designing custom photo key rings, and getting face paintings.

Snack stands along the park will offer complimentary treats for festival-goers. The Cheonho Park Fall Festival is a celebration of the community and a testament to the city's commitment to making culture accessible to all.
