Russian forces hit Kyiv petrol station, injuring four

Kyiv was struck by Russian forces on Thursday, resulting in injuries to four individuals, according to Mayor Vitali Klitschko and oil company Ukrnafta. The attack targeted a petrol station complex in the southwestern part of the Ukrainian capital, leading to a fire that damaged at least one vehicle and caused a fire in a neighboring building, reported the emergencies service. Ukrnafta CEO Bohdan Kukura dismissed the attack as terror and intimidation of the civilian population in a post on Facebook.

Ukraine has been under continuous drone attacks for nearly two weeks, primarily aimed at warehouses and industrial facilities in the city and its suburbs. Russia has launched around 300 attacks on Ukrainian petrol stations, mostly in the eastern frontline regions, seeking to disrupt logistics for Ukraine's military. Previously, Russian forces attacked an oil depot in the Kyiv region in late August.

Meanwhile, Ukraine has retaliated by launching drone strikes on Russian fuel logistics, including petrol stations, fuel tankers, and railway fuel infrastructure in Russian-occupied regions, as well as oil refineries across Russia, leading to fuel shortages. Early in the conflict, Russian forces decimated Ukraine's major oil depots and fuel storage facilities, triggering a widespread fuel crisis and prompting the country to restructure its supply logistics.
