Romeo Doubs on his no-catch, big-drop game: I'll be better moving forward

Wide receiver Romeo Doubs joined the New England Patriots through a four-year, $68 million free-agency agreement. However, the team did not see much return from him in Week 1. During the loss to Seattle, Doubs failed to secure any catches on three targets and experienced a significant drop on a big opportunity. Post-game, Doubs attributed his performance to lack of focus, stating, "I just wasn’t locked in."

This marked the fifth instance in his five-year career where Doubs went without a catch in a game. One such missed catch could have been a 33-yard gain, but Doubs dropped Drake Maye's pass. Maye had subsequently thrown an interception, leading to the Seahawks securing a game-winning field goal. Doubs acknowledged his mistake, saying, "I just put that on my end.

I’ll just be able to move forward. That had nothing to do with Drake [Maye]. That was 150 percent me, and I’ll be better."
