QFA General Assembly confirms Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al-Thani as President until 2027

The Qatar Football Association (QFA) General Assembly has unanimously reappointed Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al-Thani as the President of the association until the 2027 elective General Assembly. Sheikh Dr. Tamim bin Mohammed Al-Thani was also confirmed as Vice President for the same duration. The assembly comprised QFA officials, member clubs, department directors, committee heads and members.

Key decisions included approving amendments to the QFA's statutes, confirming the election periods of Sheikh Hamad and Sheikh Dr. Tamim, and rejecting Al Dafna Sports Club's membership application. The meeting also screened a short film showcasing the federation's recent activities. Members approved the minutes of the previous General Assembly, the 2025 activity report, audited financial statements and the external auditor's report.

They also approved the QFA's budget for the 2026 financial year and appointed committees to review meeting minutes and oversee ballot counting.

Sheikh Hamad thanked previous leadership for their contributions, emphasizing the importance of continued cooperation among clubs to advance Qatari football. He highlighted the crucial role of youth categories in the federation's strategy, urging greater focus on developing young talent and supporting national footballing talent, especially Qatari coaches.

Sheikh Hamad expressed confidence in Qatar's football prospects, stressing that collective efforts would remain vital for the game's continued growth and success in the country.
