QatarEnergy signs deal for Angola offshore blocks

QatarEnergy, in collaboration with Shell and Sonangol E&P, has reached an agreement with Angola’s National Agency for Oil, Gas, and Biofuels (ANPG) to explore Blocks 8 and 22 offshore the Republic of Angola. The agreement, subject to governmental approvals and final contract negotiations, grants QatarEnergy a 30% working interest, with Shell operating at 50% and Sonangol holding 20% in the two offshore blocks.

Minister of State for Energy Affairs and CEO of QatarEnergy, HE Saad Sherida Al Kaabi, expressed QatarEnergy’s satisfaction with the agreement, emphasizing the company’s commitment to exploring Angola’s energy sector as part of its international upstream exploration strategy. Al Kaabi thanked the Angolan authorities and partners Shell and Sonangol for their cooperation, adding that QatarEnergy looks forward to a long-term and productive partnership. The agreement was signed in Luanda, the capital of Angola, during the Angola Oil & Gas Conference.
