PSG score six to launch Champions League defence, Arsenal win late at Napoli

Paris St Germain (PSG) began their Champions League defense with a commanding 6-1 victory over Slovak side Slovan Bratislava at their home stadium on Wednesday. The result was largely down to new signing Ferran Torres who scored a hat-trick, bringing the total number of PSG's goals to six as they raced into a 5-0 lead in 57 minutes. Though they conceded a late consolation goal, the victory marked a strong start to their title defense.

Meanwhile, Arsenal faced a tougher challenge at Napoli. Despite their reputation of securing all eight league-phase matches last season, they struggled against their Italian opponents. Captain Martin Odegaard turned the tie around in the 75th minute with a powerful shot to secure a 1-0 win for the Premier League side.

Liverpool staged a remarkable comeback against Atletico Madrid, winning 2-1 at Anfield. The match saw Liverpool come from behind after falling behind in the 17th minute. Dominik Szoboszlai equalized in the 50th minute, and Alexis Mac Allister scored a crucial goal in stoppage time. Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp praised his team's resilience, acknowledging the quality of the Spanish side.

Portuguese outfit Sporting Lisbon also recorded a win, overturning a fifth-minute deficit to defeat Galatasaray 3-1 in Lisbon. Goncalo Inacio opened the scoring for Galatasaray but Sporting responded through Geny Catamo in the 27th minute. Luis Suarez scored a penalty, followed by a blistering free kick from Rodrigo Zalazar to seal the win for Sporting.

In other matches, Barcelona's Raphinha and Ermedin Demirovic both scored twice as Barcelona thrashed Dutch side Feyenoord 5-1. Stuttgart secured a 3-1 victory over Viking Stavanger with Ermedin Demirovic scoring a hat-trick, while Manchester United were set to face Azerbaijani debutants Sabah in a rain-soaked fixture.
