Paul Walker’s Brother Says AI Could Bring Actor Back for Final ‘Fast and Furious’ Movie but ‘I Would Not Be Interested in Doing That’

Cody Walker, brother of the late Paul Walker, has expressed his preference for utilizing artificial intelligence to resurrect Brian O'Conner for the final installment of the Fast and Furious franchise. This idea was recently discussed in an interview with Entertainment Weekly. In the past, Cody and his brother Caleb Walker had served as doubles for Paul Walker in Furious 7, with visual effects used to superimpose Paul's likeness onto their performances.

However, the brothers are not interested in repeating this process for the anticipated conclusion of the franchise. Cody stated that Meadow, Paul's daughter, is the one who will ultimately decide how she wants to see her father's character portrayed. If she desires Brian O'Conner to be brought back, the Walker brothers are not averse to using AI, as it was not yet available during the production of Furious 7.

Despite the fact that the series initially aimed to retire Brian O'Conner, recent developments have shown that he is indeed alive within the Fast universe. Following his untimely demise in the previous film, Brian and his girlfriend, Mia, had decided to raise their children in safety, with Brian looking after Dom's toddler son Brian and their own children.

In the climactic final scene of Fast 9, Mia mentions that Brian is on his way to join Dom and the crew for a family dinner. The implication is clear: Brian O'Conner has returned to his family.
