On October 6, 2022, Armínio Fraga, Pedro Malan, Edmar Bacha, and Persio Arida signed a brief note saying, "We will vote for Lula in the second round; our expectation is for responsible economic management."

This expectation was echoed by the voters, who were more vocal about supporting Lula. The election was decided by a margin of 1.8 points, with Lula winning five out of the last six elections and governing by increasing spending each time. Despite promising no other solutions, Lula has raised the tax burden to the highest level in history, increased public debt from 71% to 82% of GDP, increased family debt, and led to the highest number of judicial recoveries in the country.

The country's inflation has risen due to Lula's decision not to make any adjustments, and the country is witnessing record-breaking debt levels. The economy is facing significant challenges, with 83.9 million Brazilians negatively impacted, and 50% of the population facing financial difficulties. Lula has been unable to implement any reforms, and the country is now led by a team that previously enacted numerous reforms. The election is crucial as it will determine the future direction and stability of the country.
