Officer helps elderly woman living alone without power for 3 months

A police officer in Thailand stepped in to assist an elderly woman who had been living alone without electricity for three months, navigating her home in darkness. Known online as "Officer Not" and stationed at Nakhon Luang Police Station in Ayutthaya, Itsa recognized the woman from a previous encounter during which he had helped her after a bicycle chain broke.

When she explained that the road was too dark for her to ride her bike, Officer Not offered his vehicle's headlights to guide her home. Upon arriving at her residence, Itsa discovered she had been living there alone, with no electricity due to a transformer malfunction. The woman revealed that her son had taken his own life about three decades ago and had since raised her grandchild after her mother left the family.

Despite her hardships, she remained calm and drew strength from Buddhist teachings, expressing a desire to stay healthy and self-sufficient as she aged. Concerned about the perishable food in her refrigerator, particularly pork, Itsa offered to replace the meat if it spoiled. He then gave her all the cash in his possession, though she hesitated to accept it.

Overwhelmed by the encounter, Itsa asked if he could hug her, likening the experience to remembering his own grandmother, who had passed away. He inquired about her navigation in the dark and learned that she relied on feeling her way around without any source of light. Itsara promised to contact the electricity provider on her behalf before bidding farewell, vowing to visit her again.
