No hazardous API readings recorded nationwide, Sarawak records highest unhealthy levels

As of 9 am on September 10, Malaysia reported no areas with hazardous Air Pollutant Index (API) readings, according to the Malaysian Air Pollutant Index Management System (APIMS) portal. Sarawak experienced the highest unhealthy API levels, with eight areas impacted. These included Sarikei with a reading of 194, Serian district police headquarters with 183, Samarahan at 180, Kuching with 171, Samalaju at 164, Sri Aman at 157, Sibu at 155, and Mukah at 154.

In Johor, four areas recorded unhealthy API readings, namely Larkin (140), Kluang (125), Batu Pahat (115), and Pasir Gudang (114). Additionally, Batu Muda in Kuala Lumpur recorded an unhealthy API reading of 167. Nationwide, 48 areas were classified as moderate, while seven areas were reported as having good air quality. The API scale ranges from 0 to 50, indicating good air quality, 51 to 100 representing moderate, 101 to 200 indicating unhealthy, 201 to 300 denoting very unhealthy, and readings above 301 classified as hazardous.
