Nikita Porwal’s emotional note after missing out on Miss World 2026 crown: ‘Some victories do not sit on your head’

Nikita Porwal, representing India at the 2026 Miss World pageant, felt a sense of disappointment after being eliminated from the competition. However, she expressed gratitude for the emotional journey the experience provided. In a heartfelt Instagram post, Nikita thanked her fans, team, and organizers for their unwavering support.

The 2026 Miss World event took place in Vietnam, marking its 75th anniversary. Joheirry Mola Dominguez, from the Dominican Republic, emerged victorious, defeating Spain’s Elisabeth Reynés and Malaysia’s Taanusiya Chetty. Nikita, hailing from Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, began her career as a TV anchor before transitioning into acting and theatre.

She has performed in over 60 plays and authored a lengthy play titled Krishna Leela. Nikita shared that one of the strangest yet beautiful aspects of the pageant community is the anonymity of those cheering for contestants. Despite her desire to win the crown, Nikita emphasized that the true victory lies in the newfound family she found within the pageant community.

She highlighted her role as a representative of India, stating that the privilege of being "INDIA" made her feel taller during the competition. Nikita also discussed her social impact initiatives, particularly her Project MAATI - Empowering the Keepers of Our Roots, which focused on education, healthcare, nutrition, hygiene, clean drinking water, and livelihood opportunities for tribal communities in Madhya Pradesh and Odisha.

Her participation in the pageant showcased the fusion of theatre, Indian culture, fashion, and social impact, proving that a Miss World journey can be much more than just the final title.
