Man kills his mother in Ranipet for asking him to seek employment

In Ranipet's Perumalrajpettai village, a tragic incident unfolded on Thursday when 39-year-old K. Munusamy allegedly killed his 60-year-old mother, Dhanalakshmi, over her insistence that he seek employment. Munusamy, a wage laborer, lived with his wife M. Meena, 27, their two children, and mother Dhanalakshmi in the village. The police report indicated that Munusamy had been unemployed for over a year, causing financial strain for his family.

Dhanalakshmi and Meena had to take on agricultural and domestic work to make ends meet. On the fateful Thursday morning, an argument erupted between Munusamy and his mother when she requested he find a job. During the heated exchange, Munusamy allegedly struck his mother on the head with a wooden log, causing her to collapse. Neighbors and relatives rushed to the scene and rushed her to the Government Taluk Hospital in Arakkonam, where doctors pronounced her dead.

The Arakkonam Taluk police registered a case against Munusamy, who was subsequently arrested and taken to the Central Prison in Vellore. An ongoing investigation aims to determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
