Jefferson emphasized that despite Simmons’ talent, which can make him an All-Star player if he maintains good health, a healthy back, and possesses the skills to guard all positions, expectations should remain modest. The Kings signed Simmons to a one-year, $3.5 million contract last Friday, offering him another chance to revitalize his career after sitting out the previous season.

The move follows the retirement of veteran guard Russell Westbrook. Sources indicate that Simmons underwent a comprehensive evaluation process with the Kings, including medical exams, on-court workouts, and meetings with coaching staff.
