Kestra Medical names Daniel Finney VP of research & development

Kestra Medical Technologies has appointed Daniel Finney as Vice President of Research & Development, effective immediately. Finney assumed the role to replace Phillip D. Foshee, Jr., who stepped down after leading the organization since 2016. Finney will oversee various initiatives within the Cardiac Recovery System platform, including internal R&D, strategic partnerships, and AI applications. His decision was motivated by a focus on clinical evidence and real-world data from patients and clinicians.

With over two decades of experience in Class III medical device development and engineering management, Finney brings a wealth of expertise to his new position. Before joining Kestra, he held product development roles at Stryker, Physio-Control, and Medtronic. Brian Webster, President and Chief Executive Officer of Kestra, praised Finney's contributions to the development of the ASSURE Wearable Cardioverter Defibrillator and his technical acumen, which he believes will guide the company's next phase of innovation.

The appointment of Finney comes as Kestra continues to advance its product strategy across the Cardiac Recovery System platform, building upon the findings of the ASSURE Clinical Evaluation Post-Approval Study, considered the largest prospective real-world study of wearable cardioverter defibrillators to date.
