Karnataka launches integrated mobility app, WhatsApp ticketing for bus travel

The Karnataka government unveiled an enhanced KSRTC AWATAR 2.0 mobile application and WhatsApp-based ticket booking service on Thursday, aiming to simplify access to state transport services. The One Karnataka Mobility App unifies the offerings of KSRTC, BMTC, NWKRTC, and KKRTC, allowing users to manage bookings, track grievances, and access monthly pass facilities through a single platform.

Passengers can now book tickets via WhatsApp, selecting options like origin, destination, journey date, and preferred bus service. Payments can be made through UPI, credit cards, debit cards, and digital wallets, with confirmation and e-tickets delivered via WhatsApp and email. The app also enables grievance management, allowing users to track complaint status and escalate issues. The system supports 24/7 assistance through KSRTC call centres and the AWATAR Cell.
