Lawrence created her account under the @jlaw tag, filling the void left by the already taken @jenniferlawrence. On her first post, she explained her decision but also warned her followers that if any negative comments were made, she would immediately quit, without any questions.

In her initial video message, Lawrence stated, "I am giving it a shot and if anyone says anything negative I will quit immediately, no questions asked." Following her post, she shared her first Instagram Story, which read: "If anyone says anything negative, I will quit. Immediately. If anyone thinks something mean, I’ll know. And I’ll quit."

This message was accompanied by a caption emphasizing the importance of kindness and positivity, stating, "Please be mindful that any mean or aggressive comments can negatively affect the baby. It’s… me. I’m the baby."

Despite only being active for 24 hours, Lawrence's new Instagram account has already garnered 1.5 million followers. Currently, she is following only 46 accounts, which include her husband, filmmakers, and former co-stars like Josh Hutcherson, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Martin Scorsese. Lawrence has never had social media handles in the past and has been vocal about her dislike for her interviews going viral during press tours.

In a recent conversation with The New Yorker, she expressed her dislike for her early viral interviews, saying, "So hyper. So embarrassing." She added, "It was a defense mechanism, to just be, like, 'I'm not like that! I poop my pants every day!'"
