James Talarico Blasts FCC for ‘Government Censorship’ After Jimmy Kimmel Says ABC Won’t Air Their Interview

James Talarico, Texas' Democratic Senate nominee, denounced the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) for what he called "government censorship" after Jimmy Kimmel claimed on-air that ABC would not broadcast Talarico's interview due to threats from the regulatory body. Talarico expressed concern over the issue in an interview with MS Now’s Symone Sanders-Townsend.

If his interview is not aired as planned, Talarico said he would consider himself "censored." He warned that such actions represent "the most dangerous form of cancel culture" and emphasized the need to protect the First Amendment and freedom of speech. Kimmel revealed on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" that the interview would not air and would instead be posted on YouTube due to FCC threats against ABC and local stations.

Kimmel attributed the decision to protect affiliates in Texas from what he described as "nonsense." The host's remarks occurred amid Disney's First Amendment lawsuit against the FCC, which claims the administration has retaliated against the network over broadcasts.
