Tuscany-based company Biorsaf has secured €5.2 million in funding and acquired Cooki, a Bologna-based platform for digital management of food information. This acquisition establishes Italy's first operator capable of providing an all-encompassing solution for compliance and data management in the food value chain, from food safety (HACCP) to quality, traceability, nutritional values, cost analysis, and labelling.

Funding was led by P101 SGR, with participation from existing investors Maia Ventures, Farming Future, and Toscana Next. Farming Future supported Biorsaf's initial funding round in November 2024.

Biorsaf's CEO, Marco Papalini, stated that the new funding and acquisition will accelerate the company's growth. Biorsaf claims that the platform eliminates paper and automates manual checks, saving an estimated 30 minutes of work per user daily and reducing operating costs by €30 million for active users in 2025. The system serves all stakeholders involved in the control chain, including company managers and specialist consultants.

Biorsaf has developed an artificial intelligence agent dedicated to digital food safety management to automate monitoring, compliance, and document management.

Founded in 2021, Biorsaf has developed the BS-Safe platform, simplifying and automating food safety, workplace safety, and water quality management. The company serves over 10,000 active users, ranging from small businesses to major restaurant groups. Biorsaf's goal is to scale rapidly, focusing on organic growth, market consolidation, and technological innovation, with a three-year plan to expand from 40 to 120 employees and generate substantial revenue.
