India captain Harmanpreet Kaur expressed satisfaction with her team's all-round performance as the defending champions secured their spot in the Women's T20 Asia Cup 2026 final by defeating Bangladesh by 40 runs in their semi-final match. Batting first, India managed 149/5 on a challenging surface, with Shafali Verma leading the charge with an impressive 64 off 40 balls.

Harmanpreet, along with Richa Ghosh and Deepti Sharma, contributed valuable runs. The spinners then dominated the chase, restricting Bangladesh to 109/7. Harmanpreet was pleased with both the batting and bowling departments throughout the tournament, praising the small partnerships on the challenging surface. She also noted that the humid conditions made batting difficult but emphasized the importance of staying focused.

Bangladesh captain Nigar Sultana admitted her team failed to capitalize on their chances and execute their plans poorly, particularly in the powerplay.
