Hanuman Ansh Writer-Director Vishal Chaturvedi Reveals Why He Removed All Digital Devices From His Room While Writing The Film

Hanuman Ansh, a film based on the life and teachings of Neem Karoli Baba, has crossed the Rs 150 crore mark at the box office. Writer-director Vishal Chaturvedi has shared the unusual method he employed while working on the screenplay. Instead of using digital devices, Chaturvedi opted to write his story by hand. He discarded all digital equipment from his writing room to concentrate fully on the narrative.

"I removed all digital devices from my room," he explained, emphasizing his intent to immerse himself in the storywriting process. Chaturvedi's research and preparation for the film were extensive. He meticulously gathered references and organized his ideas before embarking on the actual writing process. To convert his handwritten material into digital format, he enlisted the help of his assistants, who would later turn the notes into digital files.

The slower handwritten method provided Chaturvedi with a distraction-free environment and allowed him to remain focused on the story's direction. Notably, the finalization of the film's opening scene took Chaturvedi around 45 days. He held this scene in high regard, as it sets the tone for the entire film. Finding the perfect way to begin a story with numerous references and accounts posed a challenge for Chaturvedi.

Once he crafted the opening scene, the remaining narrative seemed to coalesce effortlessly. Despite being in theaters for over a month, Hanuman Ansh continues to perform well. According to Sacnilk, the film generated Rs 10.25 crore in net collections on Day 34, September 9, from 7,810 shows, maintaining an overall occupancy of 35 percent.
