General : Kluang House Fire: Army Veteran Devastated After Failing To Save Wife, Two Sons

In Kluang, a man named Khairul Nizam Wahid is devastated after losing his wife and two sons in a fire that ravaged their home. The tragic incident occurred at around 10.30pm when flames erupted in their double-storey terrace house within Taman Titiwangsa. Khairul Nizam, aged 50, was away at a local bar when he returned home to discover his living room sofa ablaze. Despite his valiant efforts to extinguish the flames, the fire quickly spread and became uncontrollable.

Unable to save his family, Khairul Nizam managed to exit the house through the kitchen door as thick smoke prevented him from re-entering the burning house. He promptly alerted his neighbors, who sprang into action to assist and called for the Fire and Rescue Department for further aid.

The grieving father learned later that his wife, Noraini Ibrahim, and their sons, Khairul Nurhaziqq Khairul Nizam, 18, and Khairul Nurhadif, 11, had perished. They were discovered embracing each other, with their mother lying beside them. The couple was known to be running a catering business and had been preparing orders for a school celebration scheduled for the upcoming Maulidur Rasul celebrations on both tomorrow and Saturday.

Khairul Nizam expressed his heartache, stating that he would gladly sacrifice his own life to bring his family back. He regretted not being able to reach the upper floors of the house where his family was trapped within the rising flames. "I don't want to lose them. We were very close and never apart," he mourned.

As he sat outside Enche Besar Hajjah Khalsom Hospital, Khairul Nizam reflected on his family's close bond, acknowledging that they would never be separated again. His life now feels lonely and incomplete, bereft of his beloved wife and sons.
