Ganesh festival preparations stepped up in Hyderabad; police review traffic, immersion plans

Preparations for the upcoming Ganesh Chaturthi festival are intensifying in Hyderabad, with police focusing on traffic management, public transport, safety and coordination with organizers. Senior police officers from Hyderabad, Cyberabad and Future City held coordination meetings on Thursday to ensure smooth movement of vehicles and pedestrians during the festival.

Special arrangements are being made for devotees, including adequate manpower, barricading, signage, temporary toilets, parking facilities and public address systems. Drones will monitor key procession routes, while arrangements for bandobast personnel and VIP movements are being reviewed. In Cyberabad, officials inspected immersion arrangements at IDL Lake, directing traffic movement and installing cranes for idol immersion.

In Future City, police engaged with pandal organizers and local representatives, advising them to obtain online permissions, ensure electrical wiring and fire-safety measures, maintain discipline and avoid inconvenience to the public. Across the three commissionerates, police stressed coordination with organizers and civic agencies as preparations for the festival and immersion processions intensified.
