Emirates carried 8.7 million passengers in July-August as Dubai tourism gears up for ATM

Dubai-based Emirates transported a substantial 8.7 million passengers during the scorching summer months of July and August, despite the turbulence caused by the regional conflict, according to a senior executive from the airline. Adnan Kazim, the Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer of Emirates, disclosed that the airline had restored nearly all of its network capacity, with demand remaining robust.

Kazim remarked on this during a press conference prior to the upcoming Arabian Travel Market (ATM) in Dubai. This comes as Dubai’s tourism sector gears up for the ATM, which is seen as a crucial platform for reviving momentum and preserving international connectivity in the face of a more daunting regional backdrop. Kazim highlighted the airline's rapid recovery post-war, stating that they had regained nearly 56 percent of their network within the first month post-impact, which was March.

This momentum continued into the following month, April, resulting in a total of around 4.7 million passengers. The recovery of Dubai's aviation infrastructure and broader tourism ecosystem played a pivotal role in the airline's swift restoration of operations. Kazim expressed that Emirates had achieved 98 percent of its network capacity, indicating that the airline was nearing full deployment of its fleet and network, despite the disruptions earlier in the year.
