Emeritus Prof John Bright Kobla Aheto, Esq

The Aheto – Sokpe – Fiaporme Family of Tsiame, in Ghana's Volta Region, have announced with deep sorrow and complete acceptance of God's will, the passing of their esteemed patriarch, father, grandfather, uncle, and educator: Professor Emeritus John Bright Kobla Aheto. The distinguished academic, who mentored countless generations, was 80 years old.

The pre-burial service, where tributes and reflections will be shared, is scheduled for Friday, 18th September, 2026, at the Forecourt of the State House in Accra, starting at 8:30 a.m. and concluding at 12:30 p.m. The dress code for this event is all black. A wake and tribute night will follow on the same day, beginning at 8:30 p.m. and continuing until dawn, held at the Family House in Tsiame, Volta Region.

The burial service and interment will take place on Saturday, 19th September, 2026, at St. Paul’s Methodist / E.P. Church Park in Tsiame, starting at 8:30 a.m. and ending at 12:30 p.m. The attendees are requested to wear black and white, symbolizing the phrase "Ame Yibɔ Bɔlɔ." Following the burial, a private interment will occur at the Family Cemetery in Tsiame.

A thanksgiving service, a celebration of Professor Aheto's life, is planned for Sunday, 27th September, 2026, at The Apostles’ Revelation Society (A.R.S) Church in Madina – Accra. The service commences at 9:00 a.m., with attendees encouraged to wear all white, signifying their gratitude to God. The event is open to all chiefs, elders, family members, friends, former students, colleagues in academia, the legal profession, the church, sympathizers, and the general public.
