Dubai Municipality broadens construction cooperation with Singapore

Dubai Municipality has established a partnership with Singapore's BCA International, following a high-level visit focused on innovative building techniques, environmental construction, digital technologies, and regulatory practices. The delegation, headed by Director-General Marwan Ahmed bin Ghalita, engaged in meetings with government agencies, construction experts, and technology firms, and conducted site visits to observe Singapore's application of advanced methods in urban development and building projects.

This collaboration aims to enhance technical skills and knowledge sharing in green buildings and modern construction methods. It includes training programs, specialized site visits, and exchanges on construction policies and industry practices. The agreement also seeks to strengthen ties between Singaporean firms and strategic development projects in Dubai.

The visit highlighted modular construction, artificial intelligence, automation, digital twins, sustainable infrastructure, and smart-city technologies. Dubai officials assessed these systems for their potential impact on efficiency, safety, quality control, and sustainability. The delegation toured projects utilizing modular building and Prefabricated Prefinished Volumetric Construction (PPVC) systems, such as those by United Tec Construction.

They also visited the Asia-Pacific headquarters of Japan's Kajima Corporation to explore technologies like robotics, construction automation, digital systems, digital twins, and smart-building management. Dubai Municipality noted that the visit extended beyond construction sites to urban-management tools, examining advanced technologies in urban planning, infrastructure management, and sustainable city policies, including digital twin applications.
