Dangote refinery proves Africa can build big projects – Sanwo-Olu

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu highlighted the Dangote Refinery as proof that Africa possesses the capability to undertake significant, large-scale projects. During a meeting at the refinery in Lekki, Sanwo-Olu pointed out that the area where the refinery sits was once a body of water, emphasizing the city's tradition of constructing on challenging terrains.

The refinery, with a production capacity of 650,000 barrels per day, showcased Africa's potential to deliver projects on a global scale. Sanwo-Olu expressed gratitude to Aliko Dangote and other organizations for their role in the refinery's development, noting that the governor's administration is focused on building a business-friendly environment for future investors.

He stressed that the success of the refinery hinges on whether forthcoming developers encounter a more streamlined process. The governor urged Young Global Leaders to translate their discussions into tangible partnerships, emphasizing Africa's readiness to advance without waiting for permission.
