Dad jumped into pool at SingPost Centre to save son, 3, allegedly left unsupervised by swim coach

On September 6, a father named Wang claims that his three-and-a-half-year-old son nearly drowned during a swimming lesson at Little Splashes Aquatics, a SingPost Centre outlet. The incident allegedly occurred when Wang was unable to supervise his son, who was left unsupervised for a period of time. Wang, who was waiting in a viewing area, says he had to jump into the pool to save his son, who was standing on a submerged platform.

The swimming teacher, who was attending to another child at the time, only noticed when Wang entered the pool. The instructor allegedly responded with "Sorry, I didn't see" and continued teaching the rest of the class without alerting other staff. CCTV footage was eventually shown to Wang's wife, who was able to make a police report.

The family has lodged reports with the Ministry of Manpower and Sport Singapore. Little Splashes Aquatics has suspended the teacher and is conducting a full internal review, including the CCTV footage, lesson arrangements and the actions taken by the teacher. The school maintains that the safety and well-being of their students is their highest responsibility.
