Corsair's new de-gamefied gaming chair is actually much more affordable than I thought

Three months ago, Corsair unveiled the TC80 gaming chair, which immediately caught my interest due to its stripped-down design and affordability. However, the price remained undisclosed at that time. Now that we know the cost, the TC80 will set you back $200/£170/€180, though this figure is subject to change.

To put this into perspective, this price is $50 lower than our current top pick for budget gaming chairs, the ThunderX3 Solo 360. Although we don't yet know how comfortable the TC80 is, Corsair's TC100 Relaxed model was our previous favorite for budget chairs, and it's heartening to see a major brand continuing to offer such an affordable option, especially when compared to the $500–$600 premium on more high-end chairs.

Corsair has thoroughly tested the chair's durability and stability, subjecting it to extreme conditions such as dropping a weight of 136 kg onto the seat and applying repeated force to various parts. Corsair's statement that they "really do abuse these chairs to make sure they're safe and long-lasting" appears to be accurate based on these tests.

The TC80's sleek design includes a wide, flat base and a backrest with a headrest that won't feel too race-car-like. Its recline angle spans from 90 to 115 degrees, but armrests are non-adjustable. Despite this, at just $200, the TC80 seems like an exceptional value for money, provided it is comfortable for you. Corsair offers a two-year warranty, adding an extra layer of reassurance.
