Cheongna Lake Park turns into triathlon, culture hub

Cheongna Lake Park is set to transform into a vibrant triathlon and cultural hub for two days, as the Incheon Free Economic Zone (IFEZ) Authority hosts the 2026 IFEZ Triathlon. The event, which will take place on Saturday and Sunday, features a 1.5-kilometer swim, a 40-kilometer cycle, and a 10-kilometer run through Cheongna International City.

Unlike traditional races, this event will see competitors navigating through the city, with swimming in Cheongna Lake Park and cycling along surrounding roads before the final run at the waterfront.

The triathlon is designed to cater to both athletes and the wider community, including residents, children, teenagers, and families. Organizers aim to provide a broader festival experience centered around sports, culture, and future mobility. On Saturday, visitors can explore the IFEZ RC Mobility Championship at the park’s waterside plaza, featuring RC car displays, mini car assembly, RC boat demonstrations, and exhibits of vintage and heavy-duty vehicles.

This unique combination of athletic competition and cultural activities promises to turn Cheongna Lake Park into a dynamic celebration of sportsmanship and innovation.
