CDA Orders Demolition of Illegal Structures Across Islamabad

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has ordered the demolition of unauthorized structures and removal of unauthorized occupants from water supply installations in Islamabad. A directive issued on September 9 by CDA's Directorate of Water Supply revealed illegal structures were identified at water works, sumps, tube wells, and overhead and underground water tanks.

These structures had been built without prior approval and exceeded the layouts originally sanctioned by the authority. CDA has instructed Deputy Directors to evict unauthorized occupants and demolish non-compliant structures. The operation will involve the Enforcement Directorate, police, and other relevant agencies. CDA also discovered occupants utilizing electricity and gas without individual meters.

The authority mandated that each allocated quarter must have separate utility connections, with occupants responsible for paying the bills. Officials have been granted 25 days to complete the operation and submit compliance reports. Failure to adhere to the orders will result in disciplinary action against CDA officials.
