Casablanca will host 2030 World Cup final, says Moroccan federation chief

Morocco has designated Casablanca as the location for the 2030 FIFA World Cup final, although FIFA has not yet officially announced the tournament's venue. The decision was announced by Fouzi Lekjaa, President of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, during a political party event in Bouznika, Morocco. Lekjaa stated that the Benslimane province, near Casablanca, would host the final.

Benslimane is situated approximately 60 kilometers from Casablanca and is set to be home to the Hassan II Stadium, which is under construction for the World Cup. The stadium is projected to have a capacity of 115,000 spectators, making it the world's largest football-specific stadium. The project is anticipated to cost $12 billion.

However, FIFA has not confirmed the final venue, with both Morocco and Spain vying to host the match. The Spanish football federation's president, Rafael Louzán, had previously suggested that Spain should be the site of the final. FIFA previously clarified in August that reports claiming its President, Gianni Infantino, had promised Morocco the final were "false and misleading."
