BRICS Summit 3-day traffic advisory: How to reach Railway Stations, Airport amid restrictions, diversions in Delhi

Delhi Traffic Police has released an advisory for commuters traveling to New Delhi Railway Station, IGI Airport and other locations during the BRICS Leaders Summit scheduled from September 11 to 13. The summit will be held at Bharat Mandapam, leading to traffic restrictions and diversions across more than 35 roads.

To reach New Delhi Railway Station, avoid controlled roads and instead take routes such as ISBT Kashmiri Gate to Connaught Place, Ashram to JLN Marg, and Vande Mataram Marg to Connaught Place. For IGI Airport, diversions and controlled access are expected, particularly for routes from Gurugram. Alternate routes to Old Delhi Railway Station include ISBT Kashmiri Gate to SP Mukherjee Marg, Ashram Chowk to SP Mukherjee Marg, and Rani Jhansi Marg to Lothiyan Marg.

Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station has two alternate routes available - AIIMS to Mathura Road and ISBT Kashmiri Gate to Mathura Road.

Commuters heading to the airport are advised to follow routes from Gurugram, avoiding controlled access and diversions. Public transport services, including DTC buses, will operate on permitted routes but may face diversions in restricted areas during the summit. Street vendors have been asked to stop vending in certain areas, while security personnel, NSG commandos and anti-drone systems have been deployed for stringent security arrangements.
