BALTIMORE (AP) — Baltimore Orioles outfielder Dylan Beavers pounded out two hits and drove in three runs during an eight-run third inning that propelled the Orioles to a 9-5 victory over the Cleveland Guardians on Wednesday night. The Orioles had been on a seven-game losing streak before Beavers' stellar performance, which turned the tide in their favor.

The Guardians, currently leading for the third American League wild-card spot, were seeking to close the gap on first-place Chicago White Sox in the AL Central. The Orioles faced a challenge early in the game, trailing 2-0, but Beavers' standout third inning, coupled with contributions from Coby Mayo, Chase DeLauter, and Nathaniel Lowe, helped the Orioles break through and secure the win.

Chase DeLauter and Nathaniel Lowe each hit a homer for the Guardians, while Shane Baz of the Orioles allowed five runs over 5 2/3 innings. Rico Garcia secured the game with his seventh save for the Orioles.
