Author urges students to stop consuming AI, build solutions

Dr. Adeshola Cole-Alegbe, the CEO of Tritek Academy, has called upon Nigerian youth to transition from merely utilizing artificial intelligence to developing their capabilities in building AI solutions. She emphasized the importance of Nigerian youths developing their intellect to remain relevant amidst the rapid growth of AI technology.

Cole-Alegbe, who is also a project manager, business analyst, and AI specialist, stated that although AI may facilitate certain tasks, possessing intellectual knowledge is crucial to prevent being left behind. The author, whose new memoir The Woman I Have Become details her experiences from her upbringing in the UK to adapting to Nigerian culture, building a career in technology, and her journey to becoming a CEO, stressed that success is a gradual process involving setbacks, resilience, and self-discovery.

The book covers her journey to Nigeria, adaptation to Nigerian culture, her university years, her return to the UK, and her eventual rise to leadership. Tritek Academy, under Cole-Alegbe's leadership, has been assisting individuals without a technology background in transitioning into tech careers for the past nine years, incorporating AI into their training programs.

The organization is eager to collaborate with the government and institutions, and plans to launch an initiative to expose Nigerian youths to the development and backend workings of AI. Queen Ashley Ojaja-Ogunwusi, the wife of the Ooni of Ife, urged Nigerians, particularly young professionals and entrepreneurs, to embrace technology and AI as tools for meaningful impact, rather than solely focusing on visibility and popularity.

She stressed the importance of understanding how technology can be deployed to address real-world problems while still honoring tradition and preserving cultural identity in the digital economy.
