AR Rahman was advised to not work with Danny Boyle, made Oscar-winning music in 3 weeks

AR Rahman won two Academy Awards for his score in Slumdog Millionaire, despite initial skepticism from his team and Danny Boyle. He secretly worked on the film, leaving his previous commitment to Ashutosh Gowariker's What's Your Rashee, and completing the score in three weeks. Rahman worked out of New York, Mumbai, and Chennai, while mixing occurred in London.

The famous "Jai Ho" sequence was originally shot to a different song, requiring Rahman to quickly compose a new piece that fit the visuals.
