Apple AirPods 5 Are Up for Preorder

Apple's AirPods 5 are now available for preorder, launching on September 18 for $129. The newest version of Apple's baseline earbuds, AirPods 5, come in two variants: one with a plug-in charging case for $129 and another with a wireless charging case for $149. The primary distinction between the two models is the inclusion of a wireless charging case in the pricier version, which supports charging via a Qi wireless charger, such as Apple's MagSafe disc.

The $149 AirPods 5 also feature volume control on the earbuds' stems, a detail absent in the more affordable $129 model.

Priced at $129, AirPods 5 introduce several enhancements, including improved active noise cancellation that Apple claims is 50% better than the previous generation. Both AirPods 5 models also feature spatial audio and Apple's live translation capabilities. Additionally, the AirPods 5 can autonomously shift between transparency mode and noise cancellation mode, depending on the ambient background noise.

While I personally own a pair of AirPods Pro and rely on them daily, I found the AirPods 5 to be a compelling alternative. I lost my initial pair and promptly replaced them with another set, highlighting their value.
