When compared to the Tyrer-Cuzick risk assessment, NYU-DRP was more effective, correctly predicting higher-risk cases 67% of the time, while Tyrer-Cuzick accurately predicted 56% of the time.

The study found that breast density alone did not accurately predict a woman's risk, as dense tissue was misclassified in some cases. The NYU-DRP model identified a lower percentage of women with less-dense, fatty breasts as high-risk compared to actual cases.
