중국, 미국의 AI 기업 ‘증류’ 단속에 “기술패권 위한 탄압, 강력 맞대응”

Chilean author Benigna Ravaudet, 46, recently shared her thoughts on art and literature during a press conference, stating that literature is an art form that continuously explores the unknown and cannot be replaced by artificial intelligence. Ravaudet, who debuted with a collection of short stories in 2009 and has published four novels, noted that the creation process takes about five years for each book.

In 2020, her work "We Will Stop Understanding the World" gained attention and earned a spot in the final shortlist for the International Section in 2020. In her 2023 novel "Maniac," she included a character based on Lee Sedol, a famous Go player who competed against AlphaGo. Ravaudet's extensive literary background includes references to historical figures such as Fritz Haber, Schrödinger, Heisenberg, Pauli, and John von Neumann, among others.

At the 15th Seoul International Writer's Festival, which opened on November 11, Ravaudet emphasized that literature reflects and explores the human condition, delving into the unknown and unexplainable. She also highlighted the importance of facing the unknown in the current era and recovering one's primal instincts. The festival, which began in 2006, is set to welcome international authors from 10 countries and domestic authors from 14, in addition to addressing the ongoing AI discussion.
