ACS crece en India, un mercado de 'data center' de 18.000 millones

ACS, a Spanish company through its local partner Sterling & Wilson, is gaining traction in India's data center market, according to recent reports. The partnership has led to the completion of another data center for a major digital multinational in Hyderabad. The specifics of the project, including its scale and investment budget, have not been disclosed by ACS.

According to the latest market analysis, more than 3.1 gigawatts (GW) of data center projects are planned, with an estimated investment of 18 billion euros. Currently, India's economy, driven by digital giants like Google and promoters such as NTT, operates 1.7 GW of data centers, with 1.3 GW under construction and another 3.1 GW with secured land, energy, and permits.

The identified opportunities in Hyderabad amount to approximately 1.9 GW. This contract underscores the trust placed in Leighton Asia's ability to execute complex projects safely and reliably. ACS CEO Roberto Gallardo noted the strong demand for high-quality digital infrastructure in key Asian markets, further reinforcing ACS's presence in a sector where the company has proven capacity and a solid track record.

Sterling & Wilson, one of India's leading industrial data center builders, has reinforced its alliance with Leighton Asia by securing 20 installations. The recent Hyderabad data center is the second joint venture between the two partners, aiming to expand with new projects on the horizon. Leighton Asia, the spearhead of ACS's digital market in the region, has become the preferred contractor for some of the world's largest hyperscalers and promoters of data center campuses.

NTT, a prominent Japanese promoter of AI campuses, has confidence in the Spanish group to work on its campuses, the most recent in Bangkok, Thailand. Within two years, the Spanish subsidiary has announced digital infrastructure contracts in Thailand, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, India, and the Philippines, a portfolio illustrating ACS's bet on a high-value-added and rapidly growing segment linked to AI.
