42-year-old farmer nabbed for raping minor in Ogun

In Ipokia Local Government Area of Ogun State, a 42-year-old farmer named Ganiu Agbajo has been apprehended for allegedly sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl. This shocking incident was brought to light by the Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps, commonly known as So-Safe Corps.

The arrest of the suspect came after a distress report was received by the Corps on September 7, 2026. The report was made by members of the community following the victim's cries for help on her way home. Eyewitnesses reported that the girl's mother questioned her about the incident, and she revealed that she had been raped by a man.

Prompted by the mother's alarm, residents immediately reported the crime to the So-Safe Corps. Law enforcement officers swiftly acted on the report and apprehended Agbajo at his residence in Hassan Compound, Igbokulu, Ita-Egbe, Ipokia. During the initial questioning, the suspect admitted to the crime, stating that the act took place on his farmland in Ojugo, Ita-Egbe.

Commander of the So-Safe Corps, Ganzallo, expressed his gratitude to the residents for their prompt action in reporting the incident. He emphasized the importance of the public reporting all unlawful and suspicious activities to the agency for appropriate action. The statement concluded by noting that the suspect has been handed over to the relevant authorities for further investigation and potential prosecution.
