2027 Hajj: Kebbi registers 3,257 intending pilgrims, remits N21.5bn to NAHCON

In Kebbi State, an impressive 3,257 individuals have registered their interest in participating in the 2027 Hajj pilgrimage, according to the Kebbi State Pilgrims Welfare Agency. The agency has also paid N21.5 billion in Hajj fares to the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), as reported to journalists by the agency's Chairman, Faruk Enabo. Enabo mentioned that they aim to complete the final N5 billion remittance to NAHCON by September 26, as required by Saudi authorities.

The agency has managed to register 95 percent of intending pilgrims and remit 85 percent of Hajj fares to NAHCON, highlighting their progress thus far. Enabo urged those who have made an initial deposit of N5 million to expedite the finalization of their payments.

Furthermore, the agency is conducting medical screenings at the local government level, eventually progressing to the zonal and state levels to comply with Saudi Arabian standards. Governor Nasir Idris expressed appreciation for NAHCON's visit, praising their commitment to the 2027 Hajj exercise. He highlighted the transformation in the commission's leadership, which has resulted in enhanced airlift capabilities for pilgrims.

Sheikh Muhammad Bin Usman, leader of the NAHCON delegation, emphasized the commission's ongoing preparations for the 2027 Hajj operation. He underscored the importance of engaging stakeholders across the six geopolitical zones in Nigeria and stressed the critical role of state governors in ensuring successful Hajj operations nationwide. Usman commended the Kebbi government for their efforts and praised the agency's energetic chairman for their contributions to the success of the Hajj operation.
