Wild scenes erupted in Manchester City's Champions League win against Porto last night. Tension boiled over between the teams, starting in the first half when Marc Guéhi fouled Gabri Veiga, causing the Porto player to bleed from his head. The home side demanded a sending-off, but the referee refused, allowing the match to continue.

As the players returned to the dressing rooms, tensions flared in the tunnel, with Manchester City goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli allegedly shoved by Porto officials, and Ruben Dias pushing Porto head coach Francesco Farioli. Security personnel had to intervene to separate the parties. The tunnel reportedly shook during the altercation, according to reports.

Coach Enzo Maresca expressed frustration, noting that his bench remained silent for the entire 95 minutes, while Porto's bench was active. Before the final whistle, Erling Haaland and Pablo Rosario engaged in a scuffle on the pitch, with Haaland being taken down and the two needing to be separated by teammates. Both players were cautioned by referee Szymon Marciniak.

Radio presenter Adrian Durham criticized Marciniak's handling of the situation, alleging that Rosario was attempting to get Haaland sent off, which he deemed a disgraceful display of refereeing. Haaland, however, remained focused on his performance, stating that they knew the match would be challenging and that they delivered on the biggest stage.

The Norwegian striker also scored both goals in the 2-0 victory, bringing his total to 36 Champions League goals, matching Manchester City legend Sergio Aguero. Haaland has also surpassed Thomas Müller as the seventh-highest all-time Champions League scorer with 59 goals, averaging one goal per game, a feat only Lionel Messi has accomplished with more appearances.
