Was Netanyahu warned of Hamas' Oct 7 attack before it happened?

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has announced his intention to file a libel lawsuit against Haaretz following a recent report accusing him of being warned by the UAE about the Hamas attack on October 7, the Prime Minister's Office announced on Wednesday. The lawsuit will also target journalist Shlomi Eldar, who reported the story for Haaretz, claiming the story was completely fabricated with no communication between Netanyahu and the UAE from the start of September 2023 until the attack.

The PMO stated that a thorough examination of Netanyahu's call log and records of entries into the Prime Minister's Office did not show any communication with the Emirati representative during this period. The report is alleged to be part of a "sinister plot with clear political timing" as part of the left's election campaign, warning of more such false plots.

Netanyahu also accused Ronen Bar and Herzi Halevi of seeing signs of the massacre hours before it began and of not informing him in time. In response to the PMO's announcement, Haaretz stated that it stands by its report.
