[UPDATED] Man found bound in septic tank at Nibong Tebal house

Nibong Tebal residents detected an unusual odor emanating from a house in Taman Seri Bistari, which prompted the discovery of a man's body inside a septic tank on a recent day. The police had received a missing person's report from the victim's family residing in Seberang Prai Tengah district. The unidentified victim, estimated to be in his 50s, was found with his limbs restrained within the rear septic tank of a single-story terrace house located along Lorong 7, adjacent to the kitchen.

Upon learning about the incident, Police Chief Datuk Dennis Lim confirmed the news. Neighbors alerted the authorities after noticing the unpleasant smell emanating from the house. The police conducted an inspection of the premises and, after a thorough examination, removed the body, which had been entombed in the septic tank for approximately two days. Firefighters assisted the police in the delicate process of retrieving the victim's remains.

Further investigations revealed that the victim's nephew had lodged a report, disclosing that RM30,000 had been transferred from the victim's bank account to an account belonging to a grocery shop situated in Sungai Bakap on Sept 7. Subsequent checks indicated that the grocer had been directed to transfer the funds to a bank located in Myanmar.

A police report filed at the Sungai Bakap police station on Sept 8 also outlined earlier suspicious transactions involving the victim's account, including transfers to both a business and personal account.

The police are currently engaged in the investigation of the victim's death, the alleged financial transactions, and the potential motive behind the events.
