Ukambani political parties will not fold for Kalonzo, says NLP leader Muli

Ukambani political parties will not dissolve to join the Wiper Party, according to Dr. Augustus Kyalo Muli, leader of the National Liberal Party (NLP). Responding to recent exchanges between Mike Sonko of the National Economic and Development Party (NEDP) and Hon. Urbanus Kyalo Wambua of the Wiper Party, Dr. Muli expressed concern over the dangerous attitude in Ukambani politics.

He questioned why having one's own political party should be seen as betrayal, supporting Kalonzo Musyoka as a test of Kamba patriotism, or disagreeing with Wiper as a sign of working for President William Ruto. Dr. Muli emphasized that Ukambani belongs to its people, not just Wiper, and that Kamba leaders have the democratic right to support any candidate or form their own parties.

He defended his engagement with President Ruto, stating that collaborating with the elected President for development is not wrong. Dr. Muli challenged Wiper to negotiate for support instead of demanding surrender and called for an inclusive roundtable of all Ukambani parties to negotiate a common agenda on various issues. He accused Kalonzo Musyoka of dominating Ukambani politics for years without providing tangible benefits and criticized him for opposing the government while failing to deliver results.

Dr. Muli urged Kalonzo to unite all leaders, including those supporting Wiper, independents, and new leaders, for negotiation and dialogue. He reiterated that their support is negotiable, but their political identity is not for sale.
