UK airports face more disruption after air traffic control glitch

UK travellers experienced further inconvenience on Wednesday as over 150 flights were cancelled across the country, following a technical glitch at Britain's air traffic control service. The National Air Traffic Services (NATS) was working to recover from the issue that caused chaos, with nearly all the cancelled flights occurring at London Heathrow, the country's busiest airport.

On Tuesday, there were already 1,300 cancellations to and from UK airports. Heathrow resumed departures after suspending arrivals, but warned disruption would likely continue. Travellers were advised to check with their airlines before traveling. This was not the first such disruption - a similar incident occurred in July last year, affecting over 700,000 passengers.

Heathrow and Gatwick airports, as well as Liverpool, Birmingham, and Edinburgh, were among those affected. British Airways cancelled over 100 flights, impacting tens of thousands of customers, while Ryanair canceled more than 50 flights, affecting more than 65,000 passengers.
