UCL: Ferran Torres hits hat-trick as PSG wallop Slovan 6-1

Paris St-Germain began their Champions League title defence with a resounding victory against Slovan Bratislava, thanks to a hat-trick from Ferran Torres. The Spanish World Cup winner, who joined from Barcelona in the summer, made an immediate impact on his European debut, scoring three goals in the match.

Ballon d’Or winner Ousmane Dembele opened the scoring after 17 minutes, capitalizing on a rebound after Nuno Mendes' shot hit the post. Slovan, managed by former Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure, struggled to break through PSG's defense, with Dembele adding a second goal in the 18th minute from a deflected cross. Dembele then became a provider for Torres, delivering a cross that allowed the new team-mate to score his second goal two minutes after the break.

Torres continued his impressive performance with a third goal, capitalizing on a clever run and lay-off by Maghnes Akliouche. Suleiman Camara pulled one back for Slovan with a shot into the top corner, but Fabian Ruiz added further gloss to the evening with a goal in the final minutes. Despite a poor start to the Ligue 1 season, PSG's emphatic win in Europe bodes well for their hopes of a Champions League three-peat.
