SK chairman agrees to pay $524.3 mil. in property division in divorce case

SK Chairman Chey Tae-won has agreed to pay 700 billion won ($524.3 million) in a property division in his divorce case, according to sources. This portion of the 944 billion won ($706.6 million) ruling ordered by the high court was contested only by Chey's side, as they accepted the remaining 244 billion won in the appeal. Chey's legal representatives filed an application with the Seoul High Court on August 31 to amend the scope of his appeal.

The renewed appeal aims to focus on whether Chey's SK Group shares should be included in the marital property subject to division, and if there were any legal errors in the calculation of the division ratio and amount. The Supreme Court will consider these factors within the context of the 244 billion won in the scope of the appeal.
